ENG – On my first visit to Seoul, I went to Camel Coffee, located in the stylish Dosan‑ro / Apgujeong neighborhood. That day, I wanted to try something different, so I ordered their “misugaru” drink — a blend of mixed grain powders (rice, barley, beans, etc.) diluted in milk, which is served as a special beverage at this café.
The flavor and texture were quite curious: it had a slightly earthy or toasted cereal note that I wasn’t expecting, and it was very filling. It wasn’t overly sweet, which pleasantly surprised me, and it paired wonderfully with the atmosphere of the place. The space has an aesthetic that mixes retro-industrial with modern touches: dark wood furniture, iron accents, soft lighting, and design details that seem carefully chosen. The Dosan branch isn’t very large, which makes it feel very cozy. They also have an outdoor seating area with benches, perfect for nice weather, where you can watch people pass by while enjoying your drink. It’s located in a very chic neighborhood, but not as crowded as some of Seoul’s more touristy cafés, which allows for a more relaxed environment. The misugaru drink was a unique experience, perfect if you’re looking for something different from the typical coffee or latte.

ESP – En mi primera visita a Seúl, fui a Camel Coffee (ubicado en el elegante barrio de Dosan‑ro / Apgujeong). Ese día quería probar algo diferente, así que pedí su bebida de “misugaru” (una mezcla de polvo de granos mezclados; arroz, cebada, frijol, etc. diluidos en leche), que en este café aparece como bebida especial. El sabor y textura me resultaron un tanto curiosos, tenía un toque algo terroso o de cereal tostado que no esperaba y llenaba muchísimo. No es excesivamente dulce, lo que me sorprendió para bien, y acompañó muy bien el ambiente del lugar. El espacio tiene una estética que mezcla lo retro‑industrial con toques modernos: muebles de madera oscura, hierro, iluminación suave, y detalles de diseño que parecen escogidos con cariño. La sucursal de Dosan no es demasiado grande por lo que resulta muy acogedor. Además cuentan con una zona para sentarse en el exterior, en unos bancos, lo cual es ideal para cuando hace buen tiempo y puedes observar a la gente pasar mientras disfrutas de tu bebida. Está en un barrio muy chic pero no tan abarrotado como algunos cafés turísticos de Seúl, lo que permite un entorno más relajado. La bebida de misugaru fue una nueva experiencia, perfecta si te apetece algo distinto al típico café o latte.
